Hackettstown, NJ – Marywood University scored a 3-2 victory over host Centenary College in a key Colonial States Athletic Conference match on Tuesday evening. The Pacers improve to 11-6 on the season with the triumph and 4-2 in conference play while the loss drops the Cyclones to 8-16 overall and 4-2 in the CSAC. The two teams, along with Neumann University, are all tied for third place in the conference.

Marywood, who beat the Centenary 3-1 at the Scranton Invitational earlier this season, took a tight first set by a 27-25 margin before falling in a 2-1 hole with losses of 25-21 and 25-23 in games two and three respectively. The Pacers forced a decisive game five with a 25-19 win in the fourth set before winning the match with a 15-9 decision in the final frame.

The Pacers were led by Emily Fillman's (Clarion, PA) 19 kills and 10 kills from teammate Ashley Cavellier (Homer, NY). Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA) collected match-highs of 38 assists, and six service aces to go along with 13 digs. Marywood also got double-digit digs from Rachel Tollett (Elkins Park, PA) (28) and Maryrose Ammirati (North Babylon, NY)

Centenary's attack was paced by Devon Paffendorf's match-best 25 kills while Jelena Markovic added 35 assists, 16 digs, and 10 kills in the loss. Kelsey Walter finished the night with a team-best 18 digs for the Cyclones  

Marywood, who has now won three straight matches, returns to the court on Thursday evening when the visit Gwynedd-Mercy College for a CSAC match. The opening serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Gwynedd Valley.
