Ritter's OT Goal Lifts Marywood Over Mighty Macs

Immaculata, PA - Marywood University's Brandon Ritter scored with 4:06 left in the second overtime and Brett Megee had a goal and two assists to become the Pacers' all-time leader in points as Marywood beat host Immaculata University 3-2 in overtime in a key Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer matchup Saturday afternoon. With the win, Marywood remains unbeaten in CSAC play with a 5-0 mark while Immaculata fell to 2-10-1 (0-4 CSAC).

Marywood (11-3) got on the board 12:20 into the game when freshman Christian Lawlor (Hillsdale, NJ finished one of Megee's two helpers on the day. The Pacers doubled their lead when Megee scored in the 23rd minute. Megee (Easton, PA) finished a rebound off a corner to become the Pacers' all-time points leader just a game after he set the team's record for career goals. Megee's rebound came after Ryan Jones' (Holland, PA) shot directly off the corner was saved.

The Mighty Macs would not go quietly, however, and got on the scoreboard with a little more than six minutes left in the first half. Kameron Teel scored on an assist from Daniel Arteglier to make it 2-1. Then, just over a minute into the second half, the hosts tied it when Arteglier scored unassisted.

The score remained knotted at 2-2 until Megee found Ritter (Wantage, NJ) with 4:06 left in the second overtime period.

Shane Quinn (Clarks Summit, PA) made six saves to earn the win in goal for Marywood while Joshua Garcia made a game-high eight saves for Immaculata.

Marywood, winners of six consecutive games, returns to action Tuesday when they host Baptist Bible College at 7:00 pm.
