Scranton, PA - Playing against a strong wind and one of the best goaltenders in the conference, Marywood University scored a goal in each half to beat visiting Immaculata University 2-0 in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon. Marywood recorded a clean sheet for the eighth time this season, seven of which have earned the Pacers CSAC wins.

Marywood (10-4-1, 7-1 CSAC) broke open a scoreless game in the 17th minute when Kaitlyn Hresko (Gibbstown, NJ) headed home a corner kick from her sister, Shannon. Despite having a strong wind at their backs for the first 45 minutes, the Pacers could not slip another shot past two-time first team All-Conference Mighty Mac keeper Jessica Gaburo.

Early in the second half, however, Erin Jones (Vestal, NY) took a through ball from thirty yards out and this time, facing the strong wind, beat a defender and Gaburo one on one for an insurance goal.

From there, the Pacers' defense, anchored by reining first-team All-CSAC goalkeeper Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY), did the rest. Coyle and her defenders limited Immaculata to just one shot in the second half and Coyle earned her eighth shutout of the season, tying her own single season mark she set in both 2007 and 2008. All of Marywood's CSAC wins have come by shutout, and the Pacers have not allowed a goal in a Conference game in 549 minutes, a period stretching over six games.

Immaculata (6-8-1, 4-4 CSAC) got their best look in the 10th minute of play when a wide open Chelsey Murta took a shot that ricochet off the crossbar and out of bounds. Gaburo finished with nine saves for the Mighty Macs while Coyle recorded three.

Marywood will be back in action Tuesday when they visit nearby Baptist Bible College.
