Scranton, PA – Marywood University won their fifth straight match in Colonial State Athletic Conference volleyball action on Wednesday night, defeating visiting Cedar Crest College in three straight games. The Pacers notched their fifth straight victory to improve 13-6 on the season and 6-2 in conference play while the Falcons fall to 4-14 overall and 1-8 in the CSAC.
Marywood won the first set 25-16, claimed a 25-10 decision in the second set, and then closed out the match with a 25-14 decision in the third game.
The Pacers got six kills from Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) and five apiece from Amanda Boyance (Staten Island, NY) and Ashley Cavellier (Homer, NY). Reigning CSAC Player of the Week Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA) handed out a match-high 31 assists while Rachel Tollett collected a match-best 24 digs for Marywood.
Cedar Crest was limited to just 13 kills, led by three from both Amber Wehry and Kamala Meena Sutton. Lauren Seale led the Falcons with 11 digs while Katey Dauble picked up 13 digs in the loss.
Marywood returns to the court on Saturday when they visit the College of Notre Dame for a tri-match. The Pacers will face the host Gators at 12:00 p.m. before meeting the University of District of Columbia at 2:00 p.m.
