Scranton, PA – Marywood University's volleyball team clinched the fourth seed and home-court advantage in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs with a 3-0 win over Immaculata University on Saturday . The Pacers end the regular season with a 15-8 overall record and an 8-3 mark in conference play.
After clinching a playoff berth on Thursday with a 3-0 sweep of Baptist Bible, Marywood locked up the fourth seed by sweeping the Mighty Macs in three sets, 25-12, 26-24, and 25-13 on Saturday.
The Pacers got eight kills and 12 digs from Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA), seven kills from Lauren Rotunda (Danbury, CT), and six kills from both Erica Krakosky (Forty Fort, PA) and Kim Lope (Clifton, NJ). Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA) dished out a match-high 26 assists while Rachel Tollett added a match-best 15 digs for Marywood.
Immaculata, who ends their season with a 5-20 record and 3-8 in the CSAC, got three kills from Tamara Dabady and Allison Lang. Kathleen Haefner led the Mighty Macs with nine assists while Brooke Schreffler had a team-best 13 digs in the loss.
Marywood will host Philadelphia Biblical University in the first round of the CSAC playoffs on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Insalaco Arena. The Pacers beat the Crimson Eagles 3-0 on September 14th in Langhorne.
