Scranton, PA – Kean University scored three first half goals on their way to a 4-1 victory over Marywood University in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday night. With the win, the Cougars improve to 8-2-2 on the season while the Pacers' record drops to 7-4-1.

Marywood nearly took the lead in the 8th minute of the game, but Olivia Habicht's (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) header off a Shannon Hresko (Gibbstown, NJ) corner kick went just wide of the post. Kean had a great chance of their own just over five minutes later, but Pacers' goalkeeper Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) made a fine save to deny Danielle Esposito's breakaway opportunity.

The Cougars were able to solve Coyle in the 20th minute when Randy Vizoco won the ball off a Marywood defender, walked in on a breakaway, and scored into the upper part of the net. Kean doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute when Carly Seidel slid a thru-ball to Ashley DiRocco, who finished low to the far past. Kristen Hager sent the visitors into halftime with a 3-0 lead when she scored unassisted after a scramble in the box with 3:39 to play in the period.

Erin Jones (Vestal, NY) got Marywood on the board with a pretty goal in the 75th minute. Habicht played a cross to the top of Kean's box that Jones settled, took a touch, and fired over the head of Cougar's goalkeeper Leandra Russo.

After missing a sitter just moments earlier, Esposito put to rest any hopes the hosts had of a comeback when she took a headed thru-ball from Samantha Ciccone and scored to the far post with just over three minutes to play.

The Cougars held a 16-10 edge in shots for the game while Marywood had four corner kicks to Kean's three.

Russo finished the evening with three saves in Kean's net to pick up the win while Coyle turned aside five shots in a losing effort.

Marywood returns to action on Saturday when they visit Philadelphia Biblical University for a Colonial States Athletic Conference game scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
