Marywood Rolls into Laurel Line Championship Game

Dallas, PA - Matt Medici and Tyrek Coleman each scored 12 points and Marywood hit 50% of their long range shots as the Pacers cruised into the Championship game of the annual Laurel Line tournament with a 72-56 win over Penn State Hazleton Friday evening in Dallas.  The Pacers (2-0) will take on host Misericordia for the title Saturday night.

Marywood built a 17-point halftime lead thanks to hot shooting from the floor.  The Pacers connected on 44% of their shots in the first half and hit six three's to go into the break with a 37-20 lead.  Down 9-5 just over seven minutes into the game, Marywood went on a 19-0 run to go up 24-9 and never looked back.

Medici (Princeton Junction, NJ) was 4 of 7 from the floor and 4 of 6 from the charity stripe for his first double-digit game of the young season.  Coleman (Harlem, NY) was 4 of 8 from the floor but 2 of 2 from three-point land.  Medici also grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds while Brent Keyes (Susquehanna, PA) added nine points

Marywood will meet the Cougars, who are also 2-0, at 8:00 pm on Saturday in Misericordia's Anderson Center.  Misericordia was a 73-59 winner over Baptist Bible College in Friday night's other opening round game.
