Hazleton, PA – Freshman Brittany Mang scored a game-high 18 points to help lead Marywood University to a 61-45 victory over Penn State Hazleton in non-conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers, who also got 10 points apiece from Mariah Schaffer and Marielle Thorsen, notched their second-straight win to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Marywood took control of the Saturday's game right from the start by scoring the first 13 points of the game and holding the Lions to just five points over the first ten minutes of the game. Penn State Hazleton was able to cut their deficit to eight points at 21-13 with 4:57 to play in the first half, but that's as close as the hosts would come in the opening period as the Pacers took a 31-19 advantage into the locker room.

The Lions again trimmed Marywood's lead to eight points midway through the second half, but the Pacers responded with a 12-3 run over the next four minutes to snuff out any hopes of a comeback.

Mang (Carbondale, PA) finished the game with 18 points after shooting 8-11 from the field and converting both her free throw attempts while also grabbing a game-high seven steals. Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) and Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ) also finished in double figures with 10 points apiece for the Pacers, who shot 47.1 percent from the field for the game and went 10-14 from the free throw line.

Tiffany Donnelly led Penn State Hazleton with 13 points as the Lions shot 42.1 percent from the floor on the afternoon.

Marywood returns to action on Tuesday when they visit Wilkes University for a non-conference game scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre.
