La Plume, PA – Trailing by one point early in the second half, Marywood University rattled off 21 unanswered points on their way to a 47-36 victory over Keystone College in the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Monday evening. The Pacers notched their fourth consecutive victory to improve to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play while the Giants remain winless in five games.

Marywood held the lead for much of the first half and went into halftime with a 22-19 lead after shooting 28.6 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes of play. Back-to-back field goals by Keystone's Tiana Cuttino gave the hosts a 23-22 edge with 18:30 to play, but a jumper by the Pacers' Brittany Mang (Carbondale, PA) put Marywood back in front and started a run of 21-straight point for the visitors that gave the Pacers a commanding 43-23 lead with 8:02 to play after Marielle Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ) converted a pair of free throws.

The Giants outscored the Pacers 13-4 over the final eight minutes of play, but Marywood's lead was too much to overcome. Thorsen finished the evening with a game-high 16 points to go along with eight rebounds. Mang added 11 points while Carly Leitzel (Manheim, PA) pulled down 12 rebounds for the Pacers, who shot 27.6 percent from the field for the game and 66.7 percent from the free throw line.

Keystone was paced by Cuttino's 13 points while Melinda Moore tied with Marywood's Leitzel for a game-high with 12 rebounds. The Giants shot 26.2 percent from the field on the evening and 56.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Marywood returns to action on Saturday when they host the College of Notre Dame in a CSAC match-up scheduled to tipoff at 2:00 p.m. in the Insalaco Arena.
