Frederick, MD – Chris Brown won three events and Marywood University got individual wins from Ryan McKeown, Michael Stauffer, and Ryan Widenor, but the Pacers lost by the slimmest of margins, 123-122, to Hood College in men's swimming action on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers improve to 2-3 on the season while Marywood's record drops to 1-7.
Chris Brown (Mechanicsburg, PA) picked up the first of his victories on the day in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.55 and then claimed the 50 yard breaststroke in 29.81, edging Hood's Robbie Ennis by .08 of a second. Brown won his third event of the day in the 200 yard IM, finishing in 2:13.42.
Ryan McKeown (Tannersville, PA) won the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:51.01 and the 500 yard freestyle in 5:45.61 while claiming a second place finish in the 50 yard back stroke. Michael Stauffer (Nesquehoning, PA) claimed the 100 yard back stroke in 1:02.40 and was runner up in the 50 yard freestyle.
Ryan Widenor (Peckville, PA) was victorious in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.18 while settling for second in the 50 yard butterfly.
Marywood returns to the pool on January 12th when the visit Wells College.
