Five in Double Figures Powers Neumann Past Marywood

Aston, PA - Neumann University placed five players in double figures and shot nearly 50% from the floor as the host Knights picked up a 82-64 win over visiting Marywood University Monday evening in CSAC men's basketball action.  Neumann improved to 3-3 and 2-1 in league play with the win while Marywood fell to 4-2, 1-1 CSAC.

Neumann and Marywood traded three's early and often as the host Knights built a 39-30 lead at halftime.  The Knights continued their hot shooting in the second half while Marywood could not keep up.  For the game, Neumann was 30-61 (49.2%) from the floor while Marywood only hit 37% of their shots (22 of 59).  From three-point land, the Knights went 6 for 15 (40%) while Marywood was 5 of 15 (33.3%). 

Neumann placed five players in double-figures, led by 13 apiece from Ramon Williams and Patrick O'Connor.  Marquise Boggs and Bill Slade each added 12 while O'Connor had a team-high eight rebounds.  Neumann forced 25 turnovers while only committing 14 of their own on the night. The Knights picked up 17 steals in the win. 

Marywood's Matt Medici (Princeton Junction, NJ) had a team-high 12 points while Tyrek Coleman (Harlem, NY) had ten.  Lenny Martin (Wilkes-Barre, PA) had a game-high 10 boards.  Tyler Reinhard (Highlands, NJ) had nine points on 3 of 8 shooting from long-range.  

Marywood returns to action Saturday at 3:00 pm when they host Misericordia University at the Insalaco Arena.  In addition to being able to view the game via webcast through PennAtlantic, local fans that cannot make the game can catch it live on television as Fox56 sports will broadcast the game.
The game will air on WQMY-TV Comcast Ch 11, Service Electric WB Ch. 4, Direct TV HD tier Ch. 53, Dish Network Ch 53 Saturday and will be rebroadcast Sunday at 3:30 pm on WQMY.
