Langhorne, PA – Marywood University broke open a tied game with a 22-2 run to start the second half on their way to a 68-53 win over Philadelphia Biblical University in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Thursday evening. With the win the Pacers improve to 17-6 on the season and 12-3 in conference play.  Marywood's 17 wins on the season is tied for the second-best in program history and is the most since the 1991-92 Pacers who went 17-9 under former head coach Jerry Dempsey.

The first nine minutes of Thursday evening's game was a tight battle, with neither team able to take an advantage of more than a single bucket before Philadelphia Biblical went on a quick 8-2 run to take a 27-21 lead on Sarah  Poole's three-pointer with 9:17 to play in the opening half. With the Crimson Eagles holding a 34-31 lead with 5:43 remaining, Marywood went on a 9-0 run to take a 40-34 lead after Amanda Lass (Brackney, PA) hit a jumper with 3:27 left, but Philadelphia Biblical would score the final six points of the half to send the teams to their locker rooms knotted a 40-40.

Marywood, who shot a hot 59.4 percent from floor in the opening half, was led by Lass's 12 first half points. Philadelphia Biblical shot 53.6 percent in the opening 20 minutes of play and got 19 points from Dani Norton and 10 from Careth Herron in the opening period.

In stark contrast to a tight first half, Marywood dominated the second half, starting with a 22-2 run over the first 10:31 of the second period and would lead by 23 points with 5:37 to play after Maggie Farrell (Telford, PA) connected on a jumper. The Pacers would go on to outscore Philadelphia Biblical 28-13 in the second half to pick up the 15-point victory.

Mariah Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) led Marywood with 13 points after going 6-10 from the field and 1-2 from the free throw line. The Pacers' leading scorer also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds while dishing out six assists in recording the double-double. Lass and Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) each had 12 points for Marywood, while Lauren Rogan (Archbald, PA) was the fourth Pacer in double-figures with 11 points. Marywood shot 50 percent from the field for the game.

Philadelphia Biblical, now 4-19 on the season (1-12), were paced by Norton's game-high 23 points, while Herron finished with 13 for the Crimson Eagles, who shot 42.2 percent from the floor.

Marywood, who have assured themselves at least one home postseason game, will host the Crimson Eagles in their regular season finale on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in a game that will help determine their seeding in the upcoming CSAC playoffs. The Pacers will be looking to finish a perfect 12-0 the Insalaco Arena before heading into the postseason.
