Marywood Remains Unbeaten in Region, Tops King's 5-0

Edwardsville, PA - Marywood University won all three doubles matches then won at three and five singles before weather forced the Pacers and host King's College to call the match Sunday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action.   The win moves Marywood to 7-3 overall and 6-0 in region play while the Monarchs slip to 1-5.

Greg Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) and Evan Bolus (Clarks Summit, PA) got things started for Marywood with an 8-4 win at one-doubles.  They were followed by an 8-5 win from teammates Daniel Pfafman (Stratford, NJ) and Barrett Wentworth (Clarks Summit, PA) at two-doubles, and at three-doubles Todd Doran and Wyatt Nolan (Montoursville, PA) won 8-4 for Marywood.

Doran (South Windsor, CT) then won 6-1, 6-3 at three-singles to put Marywood up 4-0 on the day and Ethan Jones (Lebanon, PA) won 6-3, 6-2 at five singles to lead Marywood to the win.  Chilson was up 6-2, 5-4 in his number one singles match before weather forced the match to end early.  Bolus had split two sets while Pfafman had won his first set but was trailing 5-4 in the second.  Bao Nguyen (Scranton, PA) also won his first set (6-4) but was down 1-5 in the second when the match ended.

Marywood will host Keystone College in CSAC action on Thursday April 1 at 3:30 pm.
