Scranton, PA - Senior Ryan Cusamato hit a ninth inning, two-out, two-run homer to lift visiting Marywood University over host University of Scranton Wednesday afternoon at Connell Park in Scranton.  Cusomato's blast, just the second of his career, was a towering shot over the center-field fence and gave Marywood a dramatic come-from behind win to extend their winning streak to six games.  The Pacers improved to 9-11 with the win while the Royals fell to 10-11 with the loss.

Trailing 7-3 after six complete innings, Marywood chipped away at the Royals' lead and found themselves down just two, 7-5, entering their last at-bat.  Royal reliever Ryan Eden quickly disposed of Marywood's first two batters to leave himself just one out shy of a save, but with two outs Joe Diskin (Clarks Summit, PA) doubled to left field to extend the inning for Marywood.  Diskin would then score on a Nicholas Pasqualichio (Clarks Summit, PA) single to center to make it 7-6.

Cusomato, who earlier this season had hit his first career homerun at home, then sent a two-out fastball deep to centerfield which easily carried the fence to put Marywood ahead, 8-7.  From there, Marywood pitcher Tim Freda closed the door on Scranton's bats, striking out two of the four batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth to pick up his team-leading third win of the year.

Freda (Westbury, NY) improved to 3-1 after a three-inning relief appearance.  Freda struck out six after coming on fro Jeff Cleary (Parsippany, NJ) who also threw three innings.  Cleary allowed three runs on four hits.  Marywood starter Mike Siciliano (Whippany, NJ) also pitched three full innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out one batter.

Catcher Jason Bugno (Clarks Summit, PA) was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double at the plate for Marywood.  The senior captain also scored twice and had one RBI.

David Giglio (Wallingford, CT) went 3-5 with three RBI and two runs scored for the Royals.  Two of the three hits Giglio produced were doubles.  Eden (Philadelphia, PA) took the loss on the mound for Scranton.

Marywood returns to action on April 8th with a non-conference tilt against Moravian College in Bethlehem, while the Royals return to the diamond on Good Friday with a Landmark Conference double-dip at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove.
