Scranton, PA - Marywood University cruised to their eighth straight win by virtue of their sixth consecutive shutout as the Pacers downed visiting Mt. St. Mary College 9-0 in men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood improved to 11-3 on the year and have not lost since at set-back to Ohio Northern University on March 5th in Orlando, Florida.  The Blue Knights fell to 3-5 with the loss.

After Marywood cruised through doubles play giving up just six points combined between one doubles (8-1), two doubles (8-2) and three doubles (8-3), the Pacers would find little resistance in singles play.  Greg Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Mike McNicholas at one-singles while Evan Bolus (Clarks Summit, PA) won by an identical score at two-singles for Marywood.

Todd Doran (South Windsor, CT) picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kevin Ryan at three-singles, and Ethan Jones (Lebanon, PA) and Bao Nguyen (Scranton, PA) each handily won at five and six singles, respectively.  Daniel Pfafman's (Stratford, NJ) match at four-singles took the longest with the freshman coming away with a 6-2, 6-3 win over John Como.

Marywood returns to action Sunday with a key Colonial States Athletic Conference showdown with Neumann University at 11:00 am in Scranton.  Marywood sits atop the CSAC standings with an unblemished 5-0 conference mark while the Knights trail by a single match with a 4-0 record in league play.
