Scranton, PA - Riverside product Kaitlyn Brennan went 7-for-8 at the plate on the day with six RBIs, two doubles and two triples and then picked up her sixth win of the season on the mound as Marywood University downed Cedar Crest College 15-3 and 9-1 in CSAC softball action Wednesday afternoon in Scranton. The Pacers evened their overall record to .500 (14-14) on the year with the wins and improve to 11-5 in conference play while the Falcons slip to 8-18, 3-11 CSAC with the losses.

Brennan went 4-for-4 at the plate in the opener as Marywood plated 10 runs over the first two innings.  The Taylor, Pennsylvania native had three RBI, two runs scored and finished just a homer shy of hitting for the cycle after reaching base with two singles, a double and a triple in the game.  Meghin Palmer (Greencastle, PA) also had a strong day at the plate as the center-fielder went 4-for-5 with two RBI.  Jill Flanagan (Monroe, NY), Miranda Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA) and Janessa Bednash (Mayfield, PA) all had doubles as well for the Pacers while Kim Lope (Clifton, NJ) was 3-5 with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored.

Talia Williams (Berwick, PA) got the win on the mound in the opener to move to 4-2 on the year as the freshman hurler allowed two earned runs on four hits over 2.1 innings of work.  Kaitlyn Jones allowed just one hit in 2.2 innings of scoreless relief work.

Alyssa Bonner went 2-3 for the Falcons in the opener.  Samantha Kitts took the loss on the mound but was charged with only five earned runs as the Falcons defense had five miscues resulting in six unearned runs for the Pacers.

Brennan did more damage in the nightcap, striking out seven and allowing one run on just two hits over a complete-game effort.  The Pacers belted out 15 more hits in the second game, giving them 37 total for the day.  She then helped her own cause with another solid batting performance as she led the way with a 3-for-4, two-RBI performance.  Brennan collected another double and triple in the second game as well and scored two more runs.

Lope and Palmer also went 3-for-4 and Ashley Dommes (Scranton, PA) was 2-4 with a homer, two-RBI and two runs scored.

Alyson Mason got both hits for Cedar Crest in the nightcap as the freshman went 2-for-2.  Natalia Dial got the loss after allowing seven earned runs.

Marywood returns to action next Saturday when the Pacers travel to Immaculata University for a 1:00 pm CSAC doubleheader with the Mighty Macs.
