Scranton, PA - Marywood University scored 12 runs on 12 hits in the opener and got a solid pitching performance from Kaitlyn Brennan in the nightcap as the Pacers downed visiting Philadelphia Biblical University 12-4 and 11-4 in a pair of CSAC softball games Friday afternoon in Scranton.  With the wins Marywood improved to 6-4 in league play and 9-13 overall while the Crimson Eagles fall to 4-12 (1-5 CSAC) after the two losses.

Marywood used a five-run second in the opener to take a 5-3 lead and would add three more in the third to go up 8-2.  The Pacers scored 12 runs on 12 hits as both Kim Lope (Clifton, NJ) and Shawna Sandy (Scranton, PA) doubled in the win.  Kaitlyn Jones improved to 3-5 after a complete-game seven hitter in which she struck out two batters.  Meghin Palmer (Greencastle, PA) was 4-5 in the opener with a pair of RBI and three runs scored while Lope was 2-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Caroline DeHart and Jackie Morrow each had two hits with DeHart getting the lone extra base for PBU in the opener with a double.  Kim Martin took the loss after allowing eight earned runs on 12 hits while striking out one.

In the nightcap, Brennan (Taylor, PA) improved to 3-6 with a five-strikeout performance on the mound.  Brennan allowed just two earned runs on seven hits for her sixth complete game of the year.  Lope again had two hits and two RBIs after going 2-3 with two runs scored.  Brennan helped her own cause with a two-run double.  Sandy added a triple and her second double of the day as she went 2-4 with an RBI.

Marywood returns to action tomorrow when the Pacers travel to Baltimore, Maryland to take on the College of Notre Dame in CSAC action.  The opening game will start at 1:30 pm.
