Wilkes-Barre, PA – King's College built a 4-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 5-1 win over visiting Marywood University in non-conference field hockey action on Friday evening. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 3-1 on the season while the Pacers see their record slip to 1-3.

Danielle Terriccianno opened the scoring for the Monarchs 14:11 into the game by scoring on a one-time shot off a pass from Jenera Quinones. King's doubled their lead just over six minutes later when Calli Berryman deflected a pass from Quinones past Marywood goaltender Jamie Bowman and into the cage. An unassisted goal by Abby McManus 26:16 into the half stretched the host's advantage to 3-0 and Michelle Schmid tallied with 2:52 to play to give the Monarchs a comfortable 4-0 halftime lead.

Terriccianno netted her second goal of the game 13:25 into the second half off a Shawna Walp assist. Marywood's Brittany Beaton (Bethel, PA) scored her third goal in the last two games with 2:36 to play to break-up Erin McGinley's bid for a shutout in the Monarch's cage. Kathryn Morin (Hopedale, MA) played a penalty corner to Julie Dougherty (Wading River, NY), who had her shot deflected by Beaton into the King's net to put the Pacers on the board.

King's out-shot Marywood by a 19-1 margin and held a 16-3 advantage in penalty corners for the game

Bowman (Cheshire, CT) finished the game with six saves for Marywood.

The Pacers return to action on Monday evening when they host Wilkes University in a non-conference game scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Scranton.
