Alfred, NY – Marywood University's men's soccer team recorded it's third-straight shutout victory with a 3-0 win at Alfred University on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference contest. Brett Megee scored for the third-straight game and Ryan Jones recorded two assists for the second match in a row as the Pacers improved to 4-1.

Megee (Easton, PA) opened the scoring in the 30th minute when he drilled a header home on a corner kick served by Jones (Holland, PA). The goal was Megee's 4th goal of the season and would prove to be the game-winner for the second-consecutive game.

Marywood doubled their lead in the 41st minute when Steve Bergmann (Mickleton, NJ) earned a corner kick, then scored a header from close range off another precise service from Jones to net the first goal of his collegiate career. Jones' assist was the fourth of the season, all of which have come in the last two games. The sophomore now has nine in his career helpers, tying him for the program record for assists in a career.

Holding the 2-goal cushion at halftime, Brandon Ritter (Wantage, NJ) put the game out of reach in the 56th minute as the Pacers took advantage of yet another corner kick. Richard Fifi (Trinidad) served the ball into the area where it was deflected high in the air. Ritter nodded the ball down and into the net for his second goal of the season.

From there, Marywood's defense and goalkeeper Shane Quinn continued to hold tight, extending their scoreless streak to 240-plus minutes. Quinn (Clarks Summit, PA) made seven saves to notch his second solo shutout of the season.

Marywood returns to action on Tuesday night when they host King's College in a non-conference tilt scheduled to kick-off at 7:00 p.m. in Scranton.
