Pacers Open CSAC Play With 3-0 Win at PBU

Langhorne, PA – Marywood opened Colonial States Athletic Conference play with a solid, 3-0 win at Philadelphia Biblical University on Tuesday. With the victory, the Pacers improve to 5-1 on the season (1-0 CSAC) while the Crimson Eagles see their record drop to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Marywood claimed the first game 25-18 and took the second game 25-19 to put themselves in a good position. The Pacers sealed the victory with a 25-18 decision in the third game to earn their fourth sweep of the season.

Erica Krakosky (Forty Fort, PA) led Marywood's attack with nine kills while Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) added seven kills and a team-best 12 digs. Reigning CSAC Player of the Week Alyssa Hartranft (Mountain Top, PA) paced the team with 23 assists and Rachel Tollet (Elkins Park, PA) contributed 10 digs.

The Crimson Eagles were led by Carly Plank, who registered a game-high 11 kills. Ashleigh Colomina had 21 assists for Philadelphia Biblical, who got double-digit digs from Erika Catalano (14) and Rachel Calderon (10).

Marywood will be back on action on Friday when they travel to Aston, PA for the Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University. The Pacers will take on the host Knights at 2:30 p.m. in a CSAC match-up before squaring off against non-conference opponent York College at 6:30 p.m.
