Bethlehem, PA - Moravian College used two second half goals within two minutes of each other to improve to 3-0 on the year as the host Greyhounds downed visiting Marywood 3-1 in non-conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon in Bethlehem. Marywood dropped to 0-2 with the loss after tying the game early in the second half.

The hosts would open the scoring just under fourteen minutes in when Vita Ranella found the back of the net off a feed from Becky Renaldo. The Pacers, however, would respond just over two minutes into the second half when Julie Dougherty (Wading River, NY) scored her first goal of the season unassisted. Moravian responded five minutes later when Renaldo scored on a Maureen Helfers assist and then Helfers put the game out of reach with another assist, this time to Briana Van Buskirk, two minutes later.

The hosts out-shot the visitors 16-10 on the day. Marywood keeper Julie Bowman (Cheshire, CT) made eight saves while Moravian's Catherine Gottlieb got the win after making three stops.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday night when the host Wells College under the lights. The non-conference game is slated for a 7:00 pm face-off.
