Bethlehem, PA – Marywood University scored a goal in each half and held Moravian College scoreless to earn a 2-0 win  in non-conference men's soccer action on Sunday  afternoon. The Pacers improve to 2-1 on the season with the victory while the Greyhounds' record drops to 1-2.

Brandon Ritter (Wantage, NJ) opened the scoring in the 16th minute of Sunday's game by finishing off a pretty play. William Gordon (Harrisburg, PA) beat his defender to the baseline and played a ball hard on the ground across the six yard box toward Christian Lawlor (Hillsdale, NJ). Lawlor faked a shot and let the ball slide to the back post where Ritter finished from close range into the vacant net.

After holding the 1-0 advantage at halftime, the Pacers looked to add some insurance in the second half and did so in the 60th minute. Ryan Jones (Holland, PA) played free kick into the Greyhounds' box where Brett Megee (Easton, PA) pounced on a loose ball and drilled a low left-footed shot into the back of the net to give Marywood a two-goal cushion.

Over the final 30 minutes, the Pacers defense and goalkeeper Shane Quinn, held strong to earn the team's first shutout of the season. Quinn made four saves to earn his first clean sheet in a Pacers uniform.

Both teams recorded 10 shots while Moravian held a slim, 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

Marywood returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host non-conference opponent Penn State Altoona in a game scheduled to kickoff at 4:00 p.m. in Scranton.
