Box Score

Scranton, PA - Immaculata University rallied from a five point halftime deficit and held host Marywood University to 32.8 percent shooting from the floor as the visiting Mighty Macs downed the Pacers 54-53 in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action Monday evening at Marywood's Insalaco Arena.  Marywood, who fell to 6-6 (2-3 CSAC) with the loss, connected on just 17.6% of their shots from long-range on the night.

Immaculata (4-8, 2-3 CSAC) built an early 6-1 lead on a three-pointer by Kendall Peters, but Marywood responded from the slow start and tied the game at 7-7 on a pair of freethrows by Tyrek Coleman (Harlem, NY).  Marywood would eventually go up 17-10 on a three-pointer from John Foreman (Sleepy Hollow, NY), but the visitors found themselves down just three (19-16) five minutes later after a jumper by Nelson Torres with a little over five left in the first half.

Marywood eventually built their lead to 26-21 at the break after Foreman continued his strong play on the post, leading the Pacers in the first half with 12 points in 12 minutes of action.  Matt Lepri (Tannersville, PA) added six first half points for Marywood and collected four steals.  The Mighty Macs stayed close, however, after a seven-point first-half performance from Rob Siter.

Siter would later take over the game, adding 17 second half points for a game-high 24 on the night, as the visitors climbed back over the first eight minutes of the second half.  A Siter layup would tie the game at 34-34 with 12:23 left and then Siter would do the same a minute later to give the visitors a 36-34 lead.  Marywood tied the game at 40-40, but a steal and dunk by Torres put the Mighty Macs back up two, 42-40.

With both teams trading baskets over the next five minutes, a Darnell Malabet layup gave the visitors a 49-47 lead with 2:14 to play.  Thanks to strong free-throw shooting, Immaculata would not relinquish that lead.  Up 52-50 with 3.9 seconds left, Siter nailed two more free throws down to make a buzzer-beating, half-court three-pointer from Marywood's Foreman meaningless.

Siter got 12 of his game-high 24 from the free-throw line and was helped by Torres who had 11 points on the night for Immaculata.  The Mighty Macs went 3-of-6 from long-range while limiting Marywood to 3-of-17 shooting from beyond the arc.

Marywood was led by Foreman's team-high 19 points and Lepri's 12.  Lepri collected 10 rebounds as well to complete the double-double.

Marywood returns to CSAC action Thursday when they travel to Hackettstown, New Jersey to take on Centenary College at 8:00 pm.
