Second Half Dominance Sends Marywood Past PBU, 83-55

Scranton, PA - Marywood University broke open a tight game in the second half and got scoring from every player on the roster as the host Pacers downed visiting Philadelphia Biblical University 83-55 in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action Thursday evening at the Insalaco Arena. Marywood, now winners of three straight, improved to 9-5 (5-4 CSAC) with the win while the Crimson Eagles remain winless at 0-5 (0-10 CSAC).

PBU would use a couple three-pointers early from Jeff Bishoop and Claude Clarke to take a 10-8 lead on the Pacers and the visitors would eventually go up by as many as 7 (15-8) on a jumpber by Brett Zamroz. The Crimson Eagles' lead dwindled from there as Marywood, down 17-11, went on a 11-2 run to take a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way.

Up by six at half (35-29), Marywood used a 10-3 run to start the second half and distance themselves from PBU. The Pacers eventually went up by as many as 30 (72-42) thanks to 56% shooting from the floor in the second half. The Marywood defense was relentless at the same time, allowing the visitors to connect on just 25.8% of their shots in the second half and 31% for the game.

Every player on the Marywood roster found the scoring column. Matthew Medici led the Pacers with 13 points on 5 of 7 shooting from the floor in just 11 minutes of action. Those 13 points tied for a game-high with Jeff Bishop and Clarke from PBU.

Marywood will look for their fourth straight CSAC win Saturday when the Pacers travel to take on Immaculata University.
