Box Score

Hackettstown, NJ - Visiting Marywood University out-shot host Centenary College 18-13 on the day, but it was the Pacers that had to battle back from a deficit to force a draw with the hosts as Marywood tied the Cyclones 1-1 after two overtimes Saturday afternoon in NJ.  Marywood moves to 3-1-1 in CSAC action (4-6-1 overall) while Centenary now stands at 4-3-1 (2-0-1 CSAC).

Marywood and Centenary each took five shots in the a scoreless first half, with Marywood forcing Cyclone net-minder Alyssa Hackelberg to make four saves and Marywood's Emily Osborne making one stop on a breakaway.  Osborne's save on Brittany Overland's breakaway came just after Hackelberg saved a break from Marywood's Emma Nye.

In the second half Centenary came out with more offensive firepower, and finally broke the deadlock when Overland dribbled down the flank to the endline and slotted a cross back to the top of the box where Laura Potter calmly collected the pass, beat one defender and Osborne for the game's first goal.

Minutes later, however, Marywood took advantage of a Cyclone defensive miscue when Erin Jones muscled the ball from two Centenary defenders at the top of the 18 yard box and dropped a pass to Olivia Habicht, who wisely chipped Hackelberg who had attempted to clear the ball as well.

From there, each team had a few solid looks to break the deadlock but no one would find the back of the net again.  Marywood took five shots in overtime, putting two on goal, while Centenary took two with neither forcing Osborne to make a save.

Marywood returns to action Thursday with their fifth of six consecutive away games.  The Pacers will travel to Union, New Jersey to take on Kean University in the Pacers' final non-conference game of the regular season.
