Box Score

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Siobhan Blancaflor scored two first half goals and added a third in the second half as the host Pacers beat visiting Baptist Bible College 5-1 in CSAC women's soccer action Tuesday evening in Scranton.  Playing in front of television cameras for local television station WQMY MyNetworkTV, the Pacers broke open a 2-1 game with three second half goals en route to the win.  Marywood improves to 5-1-1 in league play with the win.  The game will be re-broadcast Wednesday October 12 at 6:00 am and again at 7:00 pm on the stations listed below.

After a scoreless first half hour of soccer which saw Marywood miss several chances to get on the scoreboard, Blancaflor took a long feed from Kaitlyn Hresko, cut back just outside the 18-yard box and ripped a shot from 20-yards out to the far upper-90 of the goal.  Only thirty seconds later, however, a let-down in Marywood's midfield allowed Erin Law to score from the top of the Pacers' 18-yard line as she beat Marywood keeper Dominique Kozuch to level the score.

With just over three minutes left in the opening half, Blancaflor tallied her second goal of the game, and the eventual game-winner, on a feed from Olivia Habicht.  This time, Blancaflor would slide to touch a thru-ball feed from Habicht past Defenders' keeper Erica Thomson to make it 2-1.

After the break, Marywood again took some time to generate offense, but eventually rattled off three more tallies in a 20-minute time span to break the game open.  Habicht scored on a dual assist from Shannon Stoll and Emma Nye in the 66th minute to make it 3-1 before Blancaflor completed her hat-trick off another assist from Habicht in the 80th minute.

Marywood's Kaitlyn Hresko closed the scoring on the game when she belted a 35-yard chip shot into the far post netting after BBC cleared a Marywood corner kick.

Kozuch got the win in the net after making one stop in 76:20 of action.  Emily Osborne played the final 13:40 and was not forced to make a stop.  Thomson made eleven saves for BBC in 79:39 while Cierra Bryon played the final 10:21, making one stop and allowing Hresko's goal.

Marywood out-shot the Defenders 35-6 for the game and had 17 shots on goal to BBC's one.  The Pacers also had a 12-2 advantage in corners.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when they travel to Immaculata University for their final regular season away contest.  Kick-off is set for 1:00 pm.
