Pacers Drop Non-Conference Match at Scranton

Scranton, PAJulia Crilly and Jenell McFadden both recorded double-doubles to lead the host University of Scranton to a three games to one victory over Marywood University in non-conference volleyball action Thursday evening at the Long Center.  They Royals improve to 13-9 on the season with the win the Pink Dig Match for Breast Cancer Awareness while the Pacers record now stands at 12-9 this fall.
 
Scranton, who defeated Marywood 3-0 in on September 10th, jumped out to a two games to none lead with wins of 25-17 and 25-18 in the first two sets, respectively.  The Pacers stayed alive with a 25-19 victory in game three, but the Royals clinched the win by claiming a 25-22 decision in the fifth set.
 
Crilly led all players with 15 kills and added 16 digs, tied with Marissa Every for the Royals' team high.  McFadden contributed 13 kills and recorded 11 digs to complete her double-double for Scranton, who got 23 assists and five service aces from Emily Keim and 15 helpers from Juli Woods.
 
Kathleen Reilly paced Marywood's attack with nine kills while Megan Schilling finished the evening with eight kills.  Kelly Chadwick led all players with 31 assists for the Pacers while Rachel Tollett contributed a match-leading 26 digs.  Jessica Lynne Swida recorded two service aces and Erica Krakosky added a pair of solo blocks in the defeat.
 
Marywood will look to snap their three-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon when they host Notre Dame of Maryland University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Insalaco Arena.
