Box Score

Glenside, PA - Host Arcadia University scored a pair of second half goals only two and a half minutes apart as the Scarlet Knights beat Marywood University 2-0 in non-conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon.  Marywood, who got three saves from Jamie Bowman in the loss, falls to 3-9 overall.  Arcadia improved to 4-11 with the win.

After a scoreless first half which saw Arcadia out-shoot Marywood only 2-1, the hosts got on the board a little over twelve minutes into the second frame as Marilyn Beatty scored on an Ashley Ditchey assist.  Ditchey's original shot from the top of the arc was blocked but Beatty was there to put away the eventual game-winner.

Just 2:27 later, the Scrarlet Knights would get some breathing room as Molly Goldstein scored unassisted to provide an insurance goal.  The hosts would take 11 second half shots and limit the Pacers to none, but could not find the back of the net again.

Bowman made three stops in 70 minutes of action while Sarah Baumgardner got the shut-out win for Arcadia after making one save.

Marywood returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Aston to face Neumann University in CSAC action.  Face-off will be under the lights at 7:00 pm.
