Clarks Summit, PA – Marywood University's volleyball picked up a key Colonial States Athletic Conference victory on Wednesday evening at Baptist Bible College, topping the Defenders in five games.  The Pacers improve to 14-9 on the season the win and move to 6-3 in conference play while the Defenders' record slips to 12-17 overall and 5-3 in the CSAC.
 
Marywood took an early lead by winning Tuesday night's first game 25-15 before the Defenders leveled the match with a 25-19 decision in game two.  The Pacers claimed a 2-1 advantage by the third set 26-24, but Baptist Bible once again drew level with a 25-18 win in the fourth game.  In the decisive fifth set, Marywood secured the win with a 15-13 triumph in the final frame of a hard-fought match.
 
Erica Krakosky led the Pacers' attack with 10 kills while Kathleen Reilly and Megan Shilling added seven kills apiece.  Alyssa Hartranft dished out a team-leading 34 assists and rounded out a double-double by adding 12 digs.  Rachel Tollett had a big game to help lead Marywood to the victory by collecting match-highs of 28 digs and seven service aces.  Mackenzie Goodwin (15) and Ashley Cavellier (12) also finished the contest in double-figures for digs while Ashley Zalewski collected three solo blocks in the win. 
 
Baptist Bible's Jessica White led all players on the evening with 22 kills while adding 16 digs for a double-double.  Emily Gordon also finished with a double-double on 10 kills and 19 digs while Katelin Broughton had a match-leading 35 assists to go along with 13 digs and four service aces.  Laura Grace Hodupp led the Defenders with 20 digs while Jaycee Shirk was the fifth player for the hosts with double-digits digs after collecting 12 on the night. 
 
Marywood next host Centenary College in another critical conference match on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.  The Pacers defeated the Cyclones three games to none in a non-conference match at the Scranton Invitational on September 9th.
