Scranton, PA - Marywood University jumped out to a 2-0 lead by heading home two set pieces and then added a third goal on a penalty kick as the Pacers defeated CSAC foe Cabrini College 3-1 in an important league matchup Saturday afternoon in Scranton.  Lacey Habict factored in all of Marywood's three goals, assisting on the first two and scoring the third, as the Pacers improved to 7-1-1 in CSAC action (8-7-1 overall).

Despite back and forth play over the opening ten minutes of play, neither team could generate a dangerous look at goal until Marywood got their first corner of the contest in the 13th minute.  Habicht sent a beautiful in-swinger to the far post where it met the head of Kaitlyn Hresko and was re-directed to the far post for the game's first goal.

Marywood would double their lead in the 32nd minute when Habicht found twin-sister Olivia's head on a direct kick from just outside the left corner of the 18 yard box.  Olivia Habicht got just enough on it to beat a charging Maddy Edwards for a 2-0 Marywood lead.

Despite trailing 2-0 at intermission, Cabrini (9-5-2, 7-2-1 CSAC) got some very dangerous looks in the first half as Marywood attempted to keep the Cavaliers' speedy forwards offsides, sometimes to no avail.  The visitors would make Marywood's back-line pay just :14 into the second half as Devon Miller scored on a breakaway to make it 2-1.

Marywood held off several more dangerous Cabrini looks before adding an insurance goal in the 70th minute.  Erin Jones took a feed and settled the ball to her feet inside the 18 before being taken down, and Marywood was awarded a penalty kick.  Habict stepped in and buried her third PK of the season, remaining perfect for the Pacers in that category.

Emily Osborne made five stops for Marywood in 90 minutes of action while Edwards finished with two saves for Cabrini.  Marywood had a 13-10 advantage in shots and a 5-3 advantage in corners.

Marywood returns to action next Thursday when they host Keystone College in CSAC action at 3:00 pm.
