Scranton, PA – Marywood University's volleyball team took a big step toward clinching home-court advantage for at least the first round of the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs by defeating Centenary College in three games on Saturday afternoon.  Junior setter Alyssa Hartranft established new single-season and career program records for assists while helping the Pacers improve to 15-9 overall with the win and now sport a 7-3 mark in conference play with one CSAC match remaining.

Marywood, who also beat Centenary 3-0 in a non-conference tilt on September 9th at the Scranton Invitational, took the first game of Saturday's matchup 25-18 before going up 2-0 with a dominant, 25-6 win in the second set.  The Pacers closed out the win by claiming a 25-23 decision in the third frame.

Kim Lope paced Marywood's attack with nine kills while Emily Fillman finished the match with eight kills and five digs and Ashley Zalewski recorded seven kills.  Hartranft dished out a match-best 28 assists to set two new Marywood records while Rachel Tollett led the Pacers with nine digs and four service aces.

Hartranft, a team captain and 2010 All-Conference Honorable Mention pick, broke her own single-season assist record set last fall of 620 helpers and now has 639 this season.  In just her third season in a Marywood uniform, Hartranft also broke Lauren Warburton's mark of 1,614 career assists established in the 2002-2005 seasons by increasing her career assists total to 1,625.

Marywood will visit Susquehanna University on Tuesday night in their final non-conference match of the season.  First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Selinsgrove, PA.
