Scranton, PA - Marywood University earned wins in seven of eleven events as the Pacers defeated visiting King's College 119-82 in women's swimming action Saturday afternoon at Marywood's Aquatics Center.  Marywood improved to 2-3 on the year with the win while the Monachs dropped to 1-1.

King's would open the event with a win in the 400 yard medley relay, but the Pacers would get six points by earning second and third place in the event as the Monarchs built an early 11-6 lead.  Marywood's Kristen Vitale would win the 100 yard freestyle in 11:50.51 while Vanessa Szilagyi would come in third to help Marywood regain a 20-15 lead.

Katie Paterson (2:05.46) would then win the 200 yard free by two seconds over Kim Brinio (2:07.10) of King's to give the Pacers their second win of the day before Catherine Anlas won the 50 yard free to extend Marywood's lead over King's. 

The Monarchs claimed first and second in the 200 yard IM but Marywood rebounded with a win from Vitale in the 200 yard butterfly.  Anlas picked up another win in the 100 yard freestyle before the Monarch's Erin McLin would win the 200 yard backstroke.

Paterson picked up her second individual win of the afternoon in the 500 yard freestyle, touching in 5:33.59, nearly twenty seconds ahead of teammate Molly Hitesman (5:52.23).  Patricia Manning from King's would win the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:41.55, but Marywood's Sara Rigoliosi (3:06.29), Diana Young (3:18.12) and Meghan O'Hara (3:20.09) all had good showings to give Marywood nine points as well.

In the final event, Marywood cruised to a win in the 400 yard freestyle relay as Paterson, Vitale, Anlas and Hitesman touched in 3:57.79 for the win.

Marywood returns to action November 6 when they host William Paterson University.
