Scranton, PA – Christian Lawlor scored an early goal and Richard Fifi and Kris Kassel added a goal and an assist apiece to lead Marywood University to a 3-0 victory over Gwynedd-Mercy College in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.  The Pacers, who are now a perfect 6-0 at home this fall, improve to 7-3 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.

Marywood took a 1-0 lead at the 11:18 mark of the first half.  Josh Bausch beat a Gwynedd-Mercy defender off the dribble and placed a cross from the baseline across the goal mouth that Lawlor calmly volleyed home for his third goal of the season.  The Pacers nearly took a two-goal later in the half, but Ryan Jones' bending free kick from 23 yards out clanked off the post and out of play.

After holding a 9-2 advantage in shots in the opening half, Marywood took complete control of the game in the second half and took a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute of play as Kassel slipped a thru-ball to Fifi that the junior ran onto and fired a left-footed shot that caromed in after hitting the crossbar.

Fifi and Kassel would team up for the third Pacers' goal just 2:42 later as Fifi play a square ball to Kassel where the freshman took a touch and fired a shot into the left upper-90 for his third goal of the season.

Marywood held a commanding 17-4 advantage in shots for the game and had five corner kicks to two for the Griffins.

Jared El Gayeh picked up his seventh win of the season after playing the first 68:45 of the game without making a save.  Matthew Roman preserved Marywood's fifth shutout of the season by making two stops in the final 21:15 of the match.

The Griffins, now 3-11 over the season and 1-3 in the CSAC, got five saves from goalkeeper Mike Leonard.

Marywood will visit Centenary College on Wednesday in a key CSAC match-up slated to kickoff at 4:00 p.m. in Hackettstown, NJ.
