Scranton, PA – The University of Scranton defeated Marywood University in a Landmark Conference men's swim meet on Saturday afternoon at Marywood.  The Royals improve to 6-1 on the season with the victory and 3-0 in conference action while Pacers record slips to 5-3 overall and 0-1 against Landmark Conference opponents.
 
Marywood's 200 yard medley relay team of Tim Merli, Chris Brown, Ryan Widenor, and Anthony Pisano won the event with a time of 1:39.23, an “A” ECAC qualifying time.  Merli would also win the 100 yard backstroke after touching in 55.39, the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.67, and the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:10.15.
 
Widenor was victorious in the 100 yard butterfly after finishing in 54.69 while Andy Blevins won the 200 yard butterfly event with a time of 2:06.61 and recorded a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle swim with a time of 1:50.59.
 
Marywood will be idle until January 8th when they host the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in a Landmark Conference meet scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
