Hackettstown, NJ – Visiting Marywood University trailed by as many as 12 points in Tuesday night's Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball game at Centenary College, but the Pacers rallied to take a thrilling, 63-62 victory from the Cyclones after Allison Bruet converted a three-point play with 5.6 seconds remaining in regulation.  The Pacers, who lead the CSAC North Division with a 3-0 record, improve to 6-2 overall while Centenary falls to 5-2 on the year (1-2 CSAC).

The first half of Tuesday night's contest was tightly played as the biggest lead over the first 15 minutes of play was Centenary's six-point advantage at 13-7 with 14:44 remaining in the opening period.  Up 23-21 at the 7:20 mark, the Cyclones used an 8-0 run to build a 31-21 advantage with 4:23 to play in the half, but Marywood narrowed Centenary lead to 31-27 lead at halftime.

A three-pointer by Marielle Thorsen 1:20 into the second half brought the Pacers back to within a point at 31-30, but the Cyclones held the lead and eventually stretched their lead to 12 points at 52-40 with 9:07 remaining.  Marywood would chip away at the hosts' lead and an 8-0 run over a two and a half minute span brought the Pacers to within three with 2:56 left on the clock.  With Centenary leading by five, Mariah Schaeffer hit a pair of free throws and following a Cylcone turnover, Brittany Mang converted a lay-up to put the score at 58-57 in favor of Centenary.

Andrea Innis converted a pair of free throws at the other end to give Centenary a 60-57 advantage, but Thorsen tied the game at 60-60 with 36.9 seconds to play in regulation after hitting a long-range three pointer.  The Cylcones reclaimed the lead on a Bridget McCann lay-in and the Pacers were called for a foul on the play, but McCann's shot at the three-point play stayed out.  Bruet collected the rebound, drove the length of the floor, and scored on a lay-up of her own while being fouled with 5.6 seconds left.  The senior guard then calmly completed the three-point play to put Marywood up 63-62, and a Centenary shot at the buzzer would not go securing the dramatic win for the Pacers.

Thorsen led all players with 25 points on 8-17 shooting including a 5-8 effort from three-point land and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe.  The senior guard also grabbed a team-best seven rebounds on the evening.  Schaeffer added 11 points for the Pacers while Bruet and Mang chipped in with nine points apiece as the team shot 27.8 percent from the floor for the game, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 60.7 percent from the free throw line.

Bruet dished out a game-high four assists while Mang led all players with five steals as Marywood forced Centenary to turn the ball over 23 times in the game.  Alysa Mayo blocked three shots on the evening for the Pacers.
