Scranton, PA - Dan DelConte scored a game-high 24 points and was a perfect 14-for-14 from the charity stripe and visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College held off a second half Marywood rally as the visiting Griffins picked up their 10th league win with a 82-75 win over the host Pacers Thursday evening in Scranton. Despite placing four players in double-figures, Marywood fell to 9-10 (5-7 CSAC) with the loss.

GMC (15-4, 10-2 CSAC) controlled play throughout the entire first half, building a 13-point lead at the break thanks to 51.6% shooting from the floor. The Griffins, who held that 13-point lead three times in the opening frame, also played solid defense, holding the hosts to just 37% shooting including a 1-for-8 mark from long range.

The second half would prove to be much different though, as Marywood opened play with a 10-2 run to make it a five point game at 43-38. The Griffins would expand their lead to 11 with nine minutes left and would go back up 13 (60-47) with 8:44 left on a layup by Frank Champion, but that is where Marywood started getting hot.

The Pacers chipped away at the GMC lead over the next five minutes by connecting on several three pointers. The Pacers found themselves down just three (75-72) with 2:28 left on the clock but the Griffins nailed four of their next five free throws to put the game out of reach.

GMC had three players in double-figures led by DelConte's 23 point night and 20 from Jon Crabtree. Jon Hogga added 11 while Champion grabbed a game-high 11 boards for the visitors.

Tyler Reinhard and Matt Lepri each had 17 points to lead Marywood while John Foreman (15 points) and Brent Keyes (10 points) also reached double digits.

Marywood will look to snap their three-game skid Saturday when the Pacers take on Philadelphia Biblical University in Langhorne at 2:30pm. Marywood handled the Crimson Eagles 83-55 in Scranton on January 27.
