Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Shane Miller went 3-for-5 at the plate including a homer and double and the host Pacers out-hit visiting Centenary 10-8 on the afternoon, but it was the Cyclones who got the best of the Pacers where it mattered the most as the visitors picked up the 9-6 win in Colonial States Athletic Conference baseball action Tuesday afternoon in Scranton. Centenary improved to 4-9 on the year (2-1 CSAC) and takes two of three from the Pacers, who fell to 9-6 (3-3 CSAC) with the loss.

The visitors jumped on the board early as leadoff hitter Jordan Wright doubled to right center to start the game. After two consecutive outs, Victor Nunez switched places with Wright, picking up the RBI with a double to right as well. The Cyclones expanded their lead to 4-0 with a three-run second before Marywood answered with a run in the bottom half of the second and two more in the third to cut the visitor's lead to 4-3.

In the fourth, however, Centenary took advantage of several walks, an error and a wild pitch to score four runs and take an 8-3 lead. The visitors would pick up their final run of the game in the fifth with an RBI single from Donny Buncy. Marywood added two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh but could get no more off Centenary reliever Dan Chapman.

Chris Zaneski (1-1) got the win on the mound after allowing four earned runs in five innings of work. Chapman was solid in relief, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out four in the final four innings of play.

Marywood's Mike Siciliano took the loss, falling to 1-1 on the year, after allowing eight runs, only three of which were earned, over 3.1 innings. Jason Aikens pitched the final 5.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits.

Shane Miller and Joseph Valvano each went 3-for-5 for Marywood with Miller picking up a homer, double and team-best two RBI. Bunce and Nunez each finished the game 2-for-5 for the Cyclones.

Marywood returns to action tomorrow against Baptist Bible College at 3:30 pm in Scranton. That game, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been pushed ahead one day to avoid expected inclement weather later in the week.
