Scranton, PA - Mike Siciliano pitched strong for seven innings but visiting King's College rallied from a 1-0 deficit by scoring once in the seventh and once in the eighth to take home a 2-1 win over host Marywood University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action.  King's improves to 8-15 overall on the year while Marywood fell to 12-11.

Siciliano was strong for much of the game, keeping the Monarchs off the scoreboard over the first six innings of play as the southpaw struck out four.  Siciliano was matched by King's Bobby Buttafogo for the first four innings, but Marywood got to the Monarch's hurler in the fifth to take an early 1-0 lead.

After Steve Wade singled to center off Buttafogo, Mike Diskin reached first on a bunt that moved Wade to second.  Both would advance one base on a sacrifice bunt from Mike Pinelli and Joseph Valvano would pick up an RBI on a routine groundout to first as Wade scored.

The Pacers would hold the 1-0 lead until the seventh when King's tied the game on an RBI double to left from Mike Fignar.  Fignar's two-bagger plated Chis Sweeney, who had reached on a single to center to start the frame.

In the eighth, Tim Shea singled to right to start the inning for King's and promptly stole second.  A sacrifice bunt moved Shea to third and the freshman would score on Joey Troxell's RBI single to left center, proving to be the game-winning run.

Despite allowing two runners to reach with two outs in the ninth, Pete Fanning picked up his first save of the season by getting the final six outs of the game.

Buttafogo earned the win, improving to 1-2 on the year.  Siciliano fell to 1-2 with the loss.  Sweeney finished the afternoon 2-for-4 for King's while Shea was 2-for-3.  Joe Diskin was the lone Pacer with multiple hits as he went 2-for-4.

Marywood returns to action Thursday when they host the University of Scranton in non-conference action at 3:30 pm.
