Langhorne, PA - Marywood University pounded out 34 hits on the afternoon and Ryan Pelle improved to 5-0 on the mound for the Pacers as Marywood swept Philadelphia Biblical University by scores of 22-0 and 14-2 in CSAC baseball action Sunday afternoon just outside of Philadelphia.  The Pacers had their offensive firepower going as they collected at least 16 hits in each game, getting two doubles, a homer and four RBI from Nicholas Pasqualichio in the nightcap.  Marywood, now 12-6 on the year and 5-3 in league play, got at least one hit from each of its batters in the opener.  PBU fell to 0-10 and 0-4 in CSAC action with the losses.

In the opener, Tim Freda earned his fourth win on the mound after a complete-game, 10 strikeout performance.  Freda allowed just five hits on the afternoon in moving to 4-1 on the year.   Marywood gave Freda plenty of offense to work with, belting out seven runs in the second inning and six in each the third and sixth.  Marywood got doubles from Thomas Czerw and David Maione while Jared Yaniello went 3-for-4  with four RBI and three runs scored.

Czerw was 2-for-3 wtih three RBI, while Pasqualichio went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and and RBI.  Eric Tomkins had three RBI as well to help Marywood to the shutout win.

In the nightcap, Ryan Pelle moved to 5-0 on the mound as he allowed two runs on nine hits over his complete-game seven innings of work.  Pelle struck out five Crimson Eagles on the day to remain undefeated for the Pacers.  Marywood then belted out 18 hits in the nightcap and scored four runs in the second and six in the fourth to cruise to a 14-2 win.

Pasqualichio was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, a homer, four RBI and four runs scored.  Joseph Valvano was 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored, while Czerw picked up another double.  Jonathan Woytach also had a double, while Shane Miller picked up a triple.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday when the Pacers travel to Reading to face non-conference foe Alvernia University.  The single, nine-inning affair is set for a 3:30 pm start.
