Shawna Sandy was 6 of 7 at the plate on the day with a homer, two doubles and a triple in a split against BBC Six Homers Help Marywood to Split with Baptist Bible Softball - 4/8/2011 7:45:05 PM Game 1 Box Score Game 2 Box Score Clarks Summit, PA- After falling behind 5-1 Baptist Bible College battled back to win the first game over Marywood University 7-6 before the Pacers belted four homers in the nightcap en route to an 11-1 win in five innings. The split puts the Lady Defenders at 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the CSAC while Marywood holds a 10-8 overall record and stand at 6-2 in conference play. With a two run homerun by Shawna Sandy and a solo shot by Kaitlyn Brennan the Pacers got off to a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the fourth in the opener. The Lady Defenders did not give up as they rallied to score 5 runs in the home half of the inning and take the 6-5 lead after four full innings. Baptist Bible added another run in the bottom of the fifth as Jocelyn Mantz crossed to plate. That run would be the difference as the Lady Defenders held on for a 7-6 victory. Stephanie Kreiser and Aleisha Buchanan each had 2 hits and scored once with Kreiser driving in two and Buchanan one. Kacee Rava went the distance on the mound to notch her 8th victory of the season. Shawna Sandy went 4-for-4 with a homer, double and two singles to lead Marywood while batting in three and scoring twice. Meghin Palmer, Kaitlyn Brennan, and Kaitlyn Jones each had two hits. Brennan added two RBIs for the Pacers. Kaitlyn Jones took the loss for Marywood, falling to 4-3 on the year after allowing seven runs, only two of which were earned, while stirking out one. Jaclyn Parsons pictched two innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit. In the second game Marywood saw solo homeruns in each of the first three innings by Brennan, Alexandra Stine, and Kim Lope. Their offense continued to click as they scored in every inning cruising to an 11-1 win. Katie Boger was Baptist Bible's only player with 2 hits as she also drove in the only run. Mowry and Rava each had a double as Rava scored the lone Lady Defender run. Lope, Sandy, Stine, and Ashley Dommes each had two hits as Stine led the way with three RBIs and two runs scored. Brennan allowed six hits and only one run as she got her fourth victory of the year on the mound. Marywood returs to the diamond tomorrow as they travel to Hackettstown, New Jersey to face Centenary College in a CSAC doubleheader at 1:00 pm. Print Friendly Version
