Marywood Remains Unbeaten in CSAC Tennis Action

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a 8-1 win over visiting Philadelphia Biblical University Friday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood improves their overall record to 3-1 while PBU falls to 3-2 (1-2 CSAC).

The Pacers swept doubles play as Lindsay Burke and Beth Schneider earned an 8-2 win in the top doubles flight.  At two-singles, Marywood picked up an 8-1 win from the duo of Melissa Hudock and Carly Leitzel, while Lauren Fersch and Megan Nastelli blanked their opponents at three-doubles, 8-0.

PBU got their only point of the match with a three-set victory from top singles player Katelynn Wilson.  Wilson downed Marywood's Ashley Karli 6-4, 2-6, 10-0.  Leitzel earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at two-singles before Burke beat Rebecca Hardman 6-0, 6-2 at three-singles.

In four singles action, Schneider was a 6-0, 6-1 victor, while Nastelli earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at five singles for the Pacers.  Hudock closed out the win for Marywood with a 6-0, 6-1 win in six singles play. 

Marywood returns to the courts Saturday with a CSAC matchup at Cedar Crest College. That match is slated for a 1:00 pm start.
