Marywood split their inaugural golf match Wednesday, beating Wilkes but falling to Misericordia Marywood Splits First Ever Golf Match Men's Golf - 9/21/2011 8:55:00 PM Match Results White Haven, PA - Marywood University men's golf team split their inaugural match, defeating Wilkes Univeristy by seven strokes but falling to host Misericordia University by 10 at the Mount Laurel Golf Course in Whitehaven Wednesday afternoon. The Pacers (1-1) shot a 325, 17 strokes above par, and were led by Paul Kania's round of 75. On the par 72 course, the Pacers beat Wilkes, who scored a 332 at the event. Misericordia, who was led by Bucky Aeppli's round of 73, shot a 315 on the afternoon, one above par and the best round of the day by two strokes. Kania's 35 tied him for second place with Matthew Kachurak of Wilkes. The host Cougars got a fourth-place finish from Jordan Wollenberg (77) while Marywood's John Stolan shot an 80 to come in fifth place. M. Frank Major came in seventh for the Pacers, finishing 10 above par at 82. Robert Crofton rounded out the top four scorers for Marywood with an 88. Marywood will compete against Baptist Bible College on October 6 at Stonehedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock. Print Friendly Version
