Pacers Move to 5-3 in CSAC with Win Over PBU

Langhorne, PA – Tied 56-56 with just over a minute remaining, Marywood University's Pierre Bakinde took a steal the length of the floor to put the Pacers up two and Marywood held on for a 61-59 win over host Philadelphia Biblical University Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action.  Marywood's win, their second straight, moves the Pacers to 6-9 overall and 5-3 in league play while PBU fell to 3-10 (1-7 CSAC) with the loss.

Marywood trailed the hosts 10-0 after just over three minutes of play but eventually battled back to forge a tie at halftime as the two teams went into the break at 25-25.  The Pacers hit just 31% of their shots in the opening half but responded with a 57% effort from the floor in the second half. 

Matt Lepri led a trio of Pacers in double-figures with a team-high 14 points.  Lepri was 3 of 4 from long-range on the night and was the only Pacer besides Ryan Corrigan (1 for 1) to hit from three-point land. Bakinde added 12 for Marywood while Shane Kellaher added 10.

Charles Kennedy led PBU with a game-high 22 points that came on an impressive 10-for-12 effort from the floor. 
Marywood next plays at CSAC leading Cabrini College Saturday.  Tip-off between the Pacers and Cavaliers is scheduled for 3:00 pm in Radnor.
