Macciocco Gets 100th Career Win as Pacers Move to 6-0 in CSAC Play

Langhorne, PA – Head Coach Tara Macciocco got her 100th career coaching victory on Wednesday evening as Marywood University moved to 6-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference play with an 80-44 victory at Philadelphia Biblical University.  Ashley Murray scored a career-high 22 points while Allison Bruet and Mariah Schaeffer also reached double-digits in points to lead the Pacers, who will take an 11-3 overall mark into a CSAC showdown on Saturday at Cabrini College. 
 
Marywood scored the first 14 points of Wednesday night's game, led by six Marielle Thorsen points, but Philadelphia Biblical used a 10-6 run to cut their deficit to 21-10 with 9:54 remaining in the opening half.  A three-pointer by the Crimson Eagles cut the host's deficit to 10 points at 28-18 with 6:55 showing on the clock, but the Pacers closed the half by outscoring Philadelphia Biblical 17-3 to hold a 45-21 lead at halftime.
 
Schaeffer led all scorers with 10 points in the opening half while Thorsen and Murray added eight points apiece for Marywood, who shot 53.1 percent from the field while going a perfect, 11-11 from the free throw line in the opening 20 minutes of play.
 
Elyse Ceide led the Crimson Eagles with nine first half points after making good of all three of her shots from beyond the arc in the period.  The Pacers limited Philadelphia Biblical to 35 percent shooting the frame while forcing the Crimson Eagles to turn the ball over 18 times while giving it away just four times themselves.
 
Marywood put the game well out of reach by opening the second half on an 18-2 run to lead by 40 points, 63-23, with 13:16 remaining, and the Pacers would go on to get points from 12 different players on the evening while remaining unbeaten in conference play.
 
Murray's career night came on an impressive shooting effort as the freshman connected on eight of 10 field goal attempts including Marywood's only three pointer of the night while the guard also went a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line and grabbed a team-leading five rebounds.  Bruet finished the evening with 11 points and added four rebounds a game-high four assists while Schaffer finished the contest with 10 points, all in the decisive first half, after seeing limited minutes in the second stanza with the result already well at hand.
 
Marywood finished the contest hitting on 49.2 percent of the attempts from the floor and 75 percent of their shots from the line.  The Pacers turned the ball over just seven times on the evening while forcing the Crimson Eagles into 26 turnovers. 
 
Ceide finished with a team-best 11 points while Haley Weber added 10 points for Philadelphia Biblical.   Danielle Bradley-Wilson led all players on the evening with 19 rebounds for the Crimson Eagles in the loss.  Philadelphia Biblical's record now sits at Eagles 4-9 on the year including a 1-6 mark in the CSAC.
 
Marywood will close out a three-game CSAC road-swing on Saturday afternoon at Cabrini.  Tipoff between the Pacers and Cavaliers is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Radnor, PA.
