Box Score

Radnor, PA – Cabrini College improved to 9-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action with a 74-52 win over visiting Marywood University Saturday afternoon in Radnor.  The Cavaliers, ranked 13th in the nation in the latest d3hoops.com poll, improve to 14-1 on the year while the Pacers saw a two-game win streak come to a halt and fall to 6-10 overall (5-4 CSAC).

Cabrini opened the game with a three from John Boyd and never trailed from there.  The Cavaliers would build an 18-6 lead with 12:45 to go in the opening half on a three from Jeremy Knowles, and after a two minute scoreless drought from both teams the hosts would go up 21-7 after the Cavaliers responded to a Matt Lepri free throw with another Knowles three.

After Cabrini extended their lead to 26-7, Marywood would finally get in double-digits with a 4-0 run.  The Cavaliers would respond, however, by closing the first half by out-scoring Marywood 12-7 to take a 38-14 lead into the locker room.  Unfortunately for Marywood the Pacers would only get back to within 20 at one point in the second half as the Cavaliers secured the win with well-rounded play.
For the game, Cabrini hit 44% of their field goals while limiting Marywood to 30% shooting from the floor.  The hosts also out-rebounded Marywood 46-39 and limited Marywood's second-chance points with 30 defensive boards.

Knowles led four Cavaliers in double-figures with a team-high 13 points.  Matt Lepri's game-high 15 points was his third team-high point total of the week.  Tyrone Baker and Pierre Bakinde each added 12 points while Bakinde snagged a game-high 13 boards to complete a double-double.

Marywood will look to get back on the winning side of things Wednesday when they host Centenary College in CSAC action.  Tip-off is slated for 8:00 pm at Marywood's Insalaco Arena.
