Box Score

Scranton, PA - Ryan Corrigan had a game high 19 points and teammate Matt Lepri scored 15, all in the second half, as Marywood University edged Rosemont College 63-59 in a key Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball match-up Wednesday evening at Marywood's Insalaco Arena.  The Pacers, who snapped a two-game skid with the win, improve to 7-11 overall and 6-5 in CSAC play while the Ravens fall to 11-8, 7-5 CSAC with the loss.

Despite hitting 45% of their shots in the opening half and limiting the visitors to 31% shooting, Marywood went into the locker room tied with the Ravens at 21-21.  Corrigan scored 10 first half points for the Pacers on four of six shooting from the floor, but no other Marywood player tallied more than five points in the first half.

Rosemont went up 26-23 early in the second half on a three-pointer from Justin Chaney, but the Pacers responded with a traditional three-point play from Lepri to even the game for the sixth time of the night.  With just under 10 minutes to play, the game was tied for a 10th time on a jumper by Rosemont's Tremell Green.

From there, however, Marywood took control, as the Pacers went back up three, 40-37, on a Pierre Bakinde three with 9:08 to go and never relinquished the lead from there.  Marywood would extend their lead to as many as nine with four and a half minutes left but Rosemont would not go away.

Another three from Chaney made it 56-50 and Chaney would nail another from long distance with just 15 ticks left to make it a three-point game as the Pacers held on to a 60-57 lead.  Marywood would ice the game from the line though as Corrigan made it a two-possession game by nailing two free throws with 1.5 seconds left.

Joining Corrigan and Lepri in double figures for Marywodo was Bakinde (10 points) and Brent Keyes (11points).  Chaney led the Ravens with 18 while DeAndre Jordan and Green each added 10.

Marywood will next host Immaculata University Saturday at 3:00 pm.
