Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Matt Lepri had a game high 25 points, but it was the early hot shooting of classmate Brent Keyes that helped the Pacers snap a six game losing streak with a convincing 90-65 win over visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College Monday evening at Marywood's Insalaco Arena.  Keyes finished with 20 points and teammate Pierre Bakinde had a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 11 boards as Marywod improved to 5-9 overall and 4-3 in CSAC action.  The Griffins fell to 9-4, 4-2 CSAC with the loss.

After a close opening four minutes of play where Marywood clung to a 10-9 lead, the Pacers went on what was their best offensive showing of the season thus far, a 23-2 run over 8:21 that saw Marywood hit five three pointers during the span.  Marywood committed just three turnovers in the first half and went into the break up 21, 44-23.  The Pacers got 24 points on three-pointers in the first half compared to just 23 points total from the Griffins.  Keyes hit four threes over the first 7:13 of the game.

The second half proved no different as Gwynedd could only manage to cut the Pacers' lead to the mid-teens on several occassions.  Marywood remained hot from the floor and hit 56% of their shots for the night.  Marywood was also 10 of 22 from long-range (45.5%) despite hitting just two of six attempts from downtown in the second half.

GMC struggled from the floor thanks to a high energy Marywood defense.  The Griffins, who hit just one of eight attempts from long-range in the opening half, hit only a third of their three's in the second half (6 of 18) to finish the night at 27% shooting from behind the arc.  For the game, GMC hit just 35% of their shots.

Marywood will look to keep the winning ways going when they travel to Langhorne Wednesday to take on Philadelphia Biblical University at 8:00 pm.
