Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Kimberly Vogan scored from 18 yards out with just under six minutes left to lift the host Pacers over Centenary College 2-1 in a crucial CSAC women's soccer battle Saturday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood also got a goal and assist from Siobhan Blancaflor in the game's opening minutes as the Pacers won their third straight to improve to 6-0-1 in CSAC play.  The Cyclones fell to 4-6-2, 3-2-1 CSAC with the loss.

Blancaflor opened the scoring for the Pacers just 4:06 into the contest when she touched home a pass from Emma Nye on a corner kick.  Nye took Angela Heydt's corner from the right, settled it in the six and slotted a nice pass to Blancaflor for the game's first goal.

Centenary's speedy wingers pressed Marywood and the Cyclones moved the ball quickly through their three person midfield to create several dangerous chances down the wings over the game's next ten minutes, but it was a play down the center of the field that tied the contest at the 19:00 mark.

Lorraine Dedrick put a pass to Sara Smith inside the 18 and Smith calmly collected the pass and beat Marywood's Victoria Pezdirtz from close range to knot the game at 1-1.  Neither team could find too many more dangerous looks for the remainder of the first half.

The second half proved to be a stronger offensive performance for the Pacers as they out-shot Centenary 13-3 in the frame.  That constant pressure on Cyclone's keeper Megan Williams finally paid off with 5:28 left when Vogan took a pass at the right edge of the "D" from Blancaflor, cut back to her left foot and placed a well struck ball over Williams' head to the far post for the game-winner.

The Pacers out-shot Centenary 17-9 for the day which included a 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.  Pezdirtz made one stop in the first half to get the win in goal while Williams made a game-high six saves.

Marywood returns to action Tuesday when they host Immaculata University in CSAC action at 4:00pm.
