Scranton, PA - Marywood University scored four goals in each half and did not allow a single shot as the host Pacers clinched the top seed and homefield advantage in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs with an 8-0 win over Cedar Crest College Tuesday afternoon in Scranton.  The Pacers got two goals and an assist from both Emma Nye and Siobhan Blancaflor in the win and remain unbeaten in CSAC play (9-0-1) on the year.

Marywood (9-7-1 overall) opened the scoring just 1:36 into the contest when Jessica Cosentino took a feed from Lauren Eck and placed a beautifully struck ball over Falcons' keeper Daniella Mendez from just inside the 18-yard box.  Just 2:02 later Blancaflor doubled the Pacers' lead when she took a feed from Nye and beat Mendez from close range.  Blancaflor and Nye traded rolls on Marywood's next goal as the Pacers went up 3-0 on a goal from Nye in the 8th minute.

After 24 minutes of scoreless play, Nye scored unassisted to make it 4-0, a lead the Pacers would take into halftime.  Marywood held a 9-0 advantage in shots for the opening period.

In the second half, Blancaflor started the scoring 6:19 into the period on a far-post bender from 15 yards out.  Jordan Salgado then made it 6-0 Marywood when she took a feed from Rachel Lamoreaux in the 66th minute and scored from mid-range.  Lamoreaux then one-timed a cross from Krista Capelli as the Pacers went up 7-0 in the 67th minute.  Shannon Stoll closed out the scoring in the 76th minute on a well struck ball after taking a feed from fellow defender Katie Barto

Marywood out-shot the Falcons 24-0 on the day, forcing Mendez to make eight saves.  Emily Osborne and Meredith Moore each played a half in goal for the Pacers to split the shutout.

Marywood closes the 2012 regular season this Saturday when they host Gwynedd-Mercy College in CSAC action at 12:00 noon.  Marywood has earned a first round bye in the CSAC playoffs and will host the lowest remaining seed on Wednesday November 1st at 7:00pm.
