Pacers Fall at Misericordia in Regular Season Finale

Dallas, PA - Misericordia University scored a pair of goals in each half and limited Marywood to just five shots on the day as the Cougars defeated the Pacers 4-0 in non-conference field hockey action Thursday afternoon in Dallas.  Marywood, now 4-11 on the year, will head into next Wednesday's Colonial States Athletic Conference semifinals as the #4 seed where they will meet top-seed Gwynedd-Mercy College.

The Cougars got on the boad in the 19th minute of play as Stephanie Piser took a feed from Lindsay Hischak and beat Marywood goaltender Natalie Winters for the 1-0 lead.  Misericordia (4-15) doubled their advantage six minutes later when Tierra Hall scored on an assist from Emily Hegner. 

The hosts would go up 3-0 just 3:14 into the second half on an unassisted tally from Hegner, and Chelsea Lahr finished the scoring on the day with 1:37 remaining in the game on an unassisted goal.

Winters made eight saves in 64:05 of action whiel Erin Dawson made two stops in 5:55 of play for Marywod.  Haley Brandt (56:25, three saves) and Grace Riker (13:35) combined for the shutout for Misericordia.  The Cougars had a 22-5 advantage in shots on the game and had 12 penalty corners to Marywood's three.
